We are absolutely delighted to share some heartwarming news from the wild side—after three months in care, fox cubs Rupert and Quinn have been successfully released back into the wild!
Their journey began with two very different but equally urgent rescues. Rupert came into our care in early June after being found with a painful, infected puncture wound and a fractured pelvis.
Thanks to swift action from The People’s Vet and the extraordinary dedication of Edward Albert, Rupert received the treatment he needed, including a six-week period of strict cage rest and daily medication.
Once strong enough, Rupert was introduced to Quinn, another young cub rescued by Friends of the Animals. Severely emaciated when found, Quinn was also treated by the vet before going into Edward’s expert care.

Over the following weeks, the pair flourished and formed a close bond that would support them as they prepared to take the next step in their journey.

With the dispersal season underway, and following a final health check, Rupert and Quinn were released into a secure area of woodland, a place where they can live freely, as nature intended. It was a moment of joy, pride, and, yes, a few tears.
Our deepest thanks go to Edward for his unwavering commitment and compassion. His care didn’t just save their lives, it gave them back their future.
And of course, we are also hugely grateful to the thoughtful finders who raised the alarm and to our wonderful volunteers who help make these stories possible.
Stay safe out there, Rupert and Quinn. You’ll always have a place in our hearts.
