Friends of the Animals Named Island Roads’ Charity of the Year

We are thrilled to announce that we have been selected by Island Roads as their staff-nominated Charity of the Year – we are incredibly grateful for the support and excited to discuss with Sarah and India at Island Roads, their fundraising ideas..

We support animals and wildlife across the Island through rehoming, spaying and neutering, help with veterinary bills, and wildlife rescue. These partnerships make a real difference to how many animals we can reach and care for.

Having a large organisation like Island Roads supporting us means so much. Demand for our help continues to grow, and last year alone we provided support costing almost £395,000. With the ongoing cost of living crisis, many pet owners are struggling to afford veterinary care. Without our intervention, some animals could sadly face being put to sleep simply because treatment costs are out of reach.

To help keep pets with the families who love them, we also run a pet food pantry to support local people who are finding it hard to afford pet food.

We raise funds through our five charity shops on the Island and in Portsmouth, as well as street and in-store collections. Every bit of support from local businesses and our community helps us keep going.

We’re excited to collaborate on many fun events together — watch this space!
