We received a call from a very shocked woman after a pigeon suddenly dropped from inside her chimney—narrowly missing a freshly lit fire and escaping with only singed tail feathers.
It seems the poor bird had fallen down the chimney earlier and was perched on a ledge until the rising smoke caused it to lose its footing.
The pigeon was lovingly cared for until our arrival, and we then liaised with Claire from Skippers Sanctuary, who has now taken the bird into her knowledgeable and compassionate care.
A scary moment with a very fortunate ending!
