Bella’s New Beginning

Lovely-natured Bella has now been with her new family for eight months, and is, by all accounts, thriving.

Bella’s journey with us began years ago, when she first arrived blind in one eye. Sadly, that eye eventually had to be removed due to painful glaucoma. After a few more happy years, her remaining eye also began causing severe discomfort, and the difficult decision was made to remove it too.

Remarkably, Bella adapted with grace, living a full and happy life with her devoted adopted dad. When he was later diagnosed with cancer, his love for her never wavered. Determined to find Bella another loving home, he returned to us to make arrangements for her future.

After he sadly lost his battle with the disease, his family honoured his wishes. They visited us for a meet-and-greet with a potential new home in mind — though it took all of about twenty seconds for Bella to win them over completely.

She settled in almost immediately, confidently finding her way around the house and garden. True to form, every walk still involves finding and proudly carrying the perfect stick.

Her family now describe her as “a lovely girl and a pleasure to have with us… and you’re not having her back.”

Frankly, we wouldn’t dream of it.
